Spanglish

The Spanglish language,     we expect it spoken,
but more and more     you see it on signs,
like the marketa     on Middlefield:
we took it from Latin,     so ¡tómelo!
And I bought used tools     at a yarda sale. Yard?
Good gods,     Æsir of Asgard!
Was ever a word     more echt germanisch?

Punch-Buggy

Hassling the kid     over homework
turned to tears.     Oh my tween!
Out later in the car     we looped through an alley
around by Fred's     German Garage--
old VW's     by the dozen--
and patched it up     with punch-buggy.
